Match report
20 Jan 2018 by Craig Dedicoat
Cookley 3 Nunnery Wood 0
A much improved start to a game, some lovely combination play and an early goal from Jess to boot.
Beth returned and put it an high energy performance with some fantastic link up play, before a lack of match fitness caught up with her.
Alice is working hard up front and her endeavour is providing great options for the midfield to exploit.
Cookley struggled during the middle third of the first half, with the heavy pitch and quick start may be effecting their performance allowing Nunnery to come back in to the game with Rosie and Lucy stopping a near certain goal late in the half.
Cookley finished the half stronger and became more settled in the second half to close out the game 3-0 with further goals for Evie from distance and a smart turn and finish from Shell.
It was pleasing to see Brodie starting to find her form with a lovely technical display and signs that she will soon be back to her best which will be a massive boost for the team.
Katherine was afforded some time to ease her way back with her first appearance of the season and did very well considering the period of time out of the team.
Lucie enjoyed the conditions to put in some typical sliding tackles and the defence, albeit for a couple of moments, remained steadfast led by the impressive Abby.
Jess was much involved and many others delivered top performances, but, player of the match went to Evie.
